Political Career of R. Sampanthan

Abstract

These infographics gives personal details (such as date of birth, educational qualifications, profession, family connections to politics) of R. Sampanthan and details of his political career i.e. start date of political career, district elected, represented parties and positions held. During April this year, the Parliament had granted Sampanthan, the former Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Leader and Opposition Leader, three months of leave from attending sessions as he was receiving medical treatment. He passed away on 30 June while receiving a treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
