dc.description.abstract | On May 24 and May 26, 2023, Tamil language newpspapers Thinakaran, Thinakkural, and Virakesari published several articles that contained violations pertaining to gender discrimination. These reports highlighted women when both women and men have been arrested over an offence, stereotyping women and assigning more blame to women. Media ethical guidelines recommend gender sensitive reporting, aiming to portray all genders fairly and without bias. The infographic includes the Sinhala translations of the headlines. | en_US |
